Back to Basics: How to Find a Job in Israel

If you’re an Anglo job seeker in Israel, sometimes the best thing you can do is go back to basics. Job searching can become overwhelming fast: Too much advice Too much overthinking Too much second-guessing So every once in a while, it’s important to reset and remember what actually works. Here’s a simple framework that can help you find a great job—whether through Cruitie or anywhere else. 1. Choose Your Direction Before applying everywhere, decide where you actually want to go. Ask yourself: What kind of work do I want? What industries fit me best? What type of environment do I want to work in? Clarity saves time. 2. Rewrite Your CV Properly Your resume matters. Take the time to: Rewrite it clearly Keep it clean and focused Make it point toward the type of role you actually want And if needed—ask for help. A strong CV can dramatically improve your chances in the Israeli job market. 3. Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help A lot of job seekers struggle silently. Don’t. Ask your friends for their support. Maybe not too much advice though, it makes things confusing. 4. Apply Consistently - 2 Applications Per Day! At a certain point, you need volume. Many people spend weeks endlessly tweaking their resume instead of actually applying. Once your CV is strong: Start sending it out Apply twice a day (but not more) Increase your opportunities Especially for English speakers and new olim in Israel, momentum matters. 5. Build Relationships—Even After Rejection Rejection does not mean the connection is useless. If a recruiter says no: Stay professional Thank them Connect with them anyway The Israeli job market is relationship-driven. One good connection can open future doors. 6. Improve Yourself While Searching Job searching is not “dead time.” Use it to: Improve your work ethic Learn skills Help other people Build discipline That growth compounds over time. 7. Don’t Stop This is the big one. Keep going. Even when it’s frustrating. Even when responses are slow. Even when confidence drops. Keep putting the work in. Control the effort. Let go of the rest. Bottom line: If you’re looking for jobs in Israel as an Anglo, success usually comes from consistency—not perfection. Simplify the process, keep improving, and stay in the game.
